What cookies are

Cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary / preference storage
We store your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage under the key ts-theme. This never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the site simply falls back to your system theme preference.
2. Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which articles they read and how they arrived. These cookies collect aggregate usage information and help us decide what to write next. They are not used to identify you personally.
3. Advertising cookies

Your choices
Opting out of personalised advertising
- Manage Google ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of many third-party vendors at once at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.
Opting out of personalised ads does not remove advertising — it makes the ads you see less relevant to you.
Opting out of analytics
Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits on any site.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking all cookies will not break this website. Your theme preference will simply not persist between visits.
